At 10 a.m. that day, Prime Minister Han visited the 'Voting and Counting Support Situation Room' set up in the annex of the Government Sejong Complex to receive a report on the voting progress, stating, "(For the 8th Nationwide Simultaneous Local Elections) confirmed cases and quarantined individuals will vote at different times from general voters."
Attending Prime Minister Han's visit to the Voting and Counting Support Situation Room were Minister of the Interior and Safety Lee Sang-min, Vice Minister of the Interior and Safety Han Chang-seop, Head of the Voting and Counting Support Situation Room Choi Hoon, Deputy Head Lim Sang-gyu, and Director of National Administration Park Gu-yeon.
Prime Minister Han requested, "Do not let your guard down and ensure timely responses with relevant agencies to various emergencies that may occur during the election process, such as power outages, fires, and communication failures, so that this election can be successfully concluded."
He continued, "I thank the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and related agencies for their tireless efforts in supporting election management since the last presidential election," adding, "Since the early voting rate reached a historic high of 20.62%, please do your best to support fair and safe election management until the voting and counting are completed, in response to the public's strong willingness to participate."
The Voting and Counting Support Situation Room for this local election will operate until the counting is completed. The Prime Minister's Office explained that it will work closely with local governments, the National Election Commission, the National Police Agency, the Fire Agency, KT, Korea Electric Power Corporation, and other related agencies to ensure safety management at voting and counting sites and respond to incidents and accidents, thereby promptly addressing any emergencies that may arise during voting and counting to ensure the safe conduct of the 8th Nationwide Simultaneous Local Elections.
