Experts Collaborate to Secure New Growth Engines for Gwangyang Bay Area
Appointment of Experts in Hydrogen Industry, Data Industry, Tourism Leisure, and New Industry Development Fields
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] The Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone Authority (Director Song Sang-rak, hereinafter Gwangyang Economic Authority) announced on the 31st that it held a ceremony for the appointment of experts in new industries within the Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone and a roundtable meeting in the situation room to revitalize investment attraction in the Gwangyang Bay Area.
The new industry investment attraction is categorized into tourism and leisure industry, hydrogen industry, data industry, and discovery of new industries. To strengthen strategic advisory functions, 13 experts by industry were appointed for a two-year term starting from May this year.
The discussion included various opinions such as government policy trends, local talent development, strengthening support for resident companies, and conducting global investment attraction activities in new industry sectors.
There were also many opinions emphasizing the importance of communication and consensus-building with local residents to revitalize investment attraction in the Gwangyang Bay Area.
Song Sang-rak, Director of the Gwangyang Economic Authority, said, “In an ever-changing industrial environment, establishing new future industries and ecosystems is an unavoidable issue,” adding, “By securing new growth engines in the Gwangyang Bay Area, we will strive to create quality jobs and boost the vitality of the local economy.”
