On the day before the June 1 local elections, at a Democratic Party Central Election Committee meeting held at the National Assembly, Chairman Yoon said, "It has only been 23 days since the administration began, so structurally it is very difficult for the opposition party. I sincerely apologize to the citizens who have turned away from politics due to the great sense of loss after the presidential election," but added, "If the people turn their heads away from politics, the Yoon Seok-yeol administration will drive the country to ruin through arrogant, uncommunicative, and dogmatic governance."
He promised, "Give the Democratic Party the power to protect sovereignty. The Democratic Party will stand against the Yoon Seok-yeol administration and prosecutorial dictatorship to protect the lives and livelihoods of the people."
