Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters Integrates Disaster Safety Communication Network... In Use from June 1
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The disaster safety communication network (PS-LTE) will be integrated into one system starting next month on the 1st.
The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters announced on the 31st that the national disaster safety communication network has been completed and will enter full operation from the 1st of next month.
The disaster safety communication network is a nationwide communication network that integrates wireless communication networks of disaster response agencies such as fire departments, police, military, and local governments into one, enabling rapid joint response in the event of a disaster.
The government has been promoting the construction of the disaster safety communication network since 2018 to resolve difficulties in sharing disaster situation information and joint response caused by the use of different wireless communication networks by each agency.
In line with this trend, the Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters purchased 4,660 disaster safety communication network radios last November and distributed them to frontline fire stations.
Then, after establishing the related system at the Disaster Comprehensive Command Center (119 Comprehensive Situation Room) in March, they recently completed pilot operations targeting five fire stations in the province.
The disaster safety communication network provides stable service optimized for communication environments based on 4th generation wireless communication technology. During recent pilot operations, it was highly evaluated among staff for improving poor reception areas and other benefits.
