View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Coway (CEOs Lee Hae-seon and Seo Jang-won) announced on the 30th that its wheelchair basketball team will participate in the 9th Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Governor's Cup International Wheelchair Basketball Tournament, which will be held from the 4th of next month.
As part of its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management on the 4th, Coway established the Coway Wheelchair Basketball Team to create employment opportunities for people with disabilities, support disabled sports, and promote the development of wheelchair basketball.
The Coway Wheelchair Basketball Team will compete against seven teams in the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Governor's Cup International Wheelchair Basketball Tournament held at Jeju City's Halla Gymnasium.
Participating in its first international tournament since its establishment, the Coway Wheelchair Basketball Team has been placed in Group B of Division 1 alongside the Thailand national team and Suwon Mugunghwa Electronics. On the first day of the tournament, they will play their first group preliminary match against the Thailand national team. The team will compete centered around former national players Kwak Joon-sung and Lim Dong-joo, as well as Oh Dong-seok, who was selected as the MVP of the 2021 KWBL Wheelchair Basketball League.
