Jangseong-gun Conducts 'Farm Machinery Safety Training' for Young Farmers
[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 27th that it conducted agricultural machinery safety education for young farmers in preparation for the farming season.
The education, held at the Jangseong-gun Agricultural Technology Center's Comprehensive Agricultural Machinery Training Center, was attended by young farmers enrolled in the Young CEO Department of Jangseong Future Agriculture University.
The training focused on practical exercises including the structure and general maintenance methods of cultivators, ridge shaping, and plastic film covering work, receiving positive responses from the young farmers.
Yoo Ji-woong, a young farmer from Seosam-myeon who participated in the safety education, said, "Through the practical training, I was able to learn in depth about accident prevention methods," and added, "I also learned a lot about new functions of the cultivator, which was beneficial."
The county expects that this education will significantly reduce the risk of agricultural machinery safety accidents among young farmers and also improve work efficiency.
Meanwhile, the county operates a total of 796 rental agricultural machines of 90 types at three agricultural machinery rental offices in different regions (main office, western branch, northern branch).
In particular, considering the difficult rural economic conditions due to the spread of COVID-19, the county is implementing rental fee reductions for agricultural machinery. This year, the number of fee reductions reached about 5,500 cases, amounting to approximately 310 million KRW.
