The ‘Comprehensive Health Checkup Project for Low-Income Multicultural Families’ targets 100 vulnerable multicultural families, including basic livelihood security recipients, near-poverty, and single-parent families residing in the Busan area, recommended by autonomous districts and counties.
The Busan Center of the Korea Medical Research Institute provides a free comprehensive health checkup worth approximately 500,000 KRW per person, covering about 90 different items such as gastrointestinal and abdominal ultrasound, lung function, and dental examinations.
The ‘Comprehensive Health Checkup Project for Low-Income Multicultural Families’ has been conducted annually since 2015 through a business agreement between Busan City and the Busan Center of the Korea Medical Research Institute, with 607 multicultural families having received free checkups up to last year.
The project is implemented to provide health checkup opportunities to vulnerable multicultural families, supporting healthy family life and stable self-reliance and settlement.
