This joint patrol, carried out during the time when students return home, has been conducted since 2011 but was temporarily paused due to COVID-19. The police explained that the patrol resumed recently as social distancing measures were eased and the academic schedule returned to normal.
About 20 people, including Kang Soon-bo, chief of Jungbu Police Station, police officers, Dongguk University professors, and members of the autonomous crime prevention squad, as well as around 30 members of the Campus Police from Dongguk University's Department of Police Administration, participated in this patrol. They patrolled the campus and the one-room apartment area densely populated by boarding students in Jangchung-dong 2-ga, exchanging various opinions with local residents to prevent crime. Chief Kang supported the Campus Police by providing 30 light batons and other patrol equipment, encouraging students' crime prevention activities.
