Gwangju Nam-gu 'Resident Informatization Education' Switches to In-Person Format
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 23rd that "following the changes in COVID-19 social distancing quarantine guidelines, the resident informatization education, which had been conducted online to prevent the spread of infectious diseases, will be switched to face-to-face starting from June."
The resident informatization education is an educational program targeting information-disadvantaged groups such as the elderly in the district, and it has received great response among residents.
Since the spread of COVID-19 began in February 2020, the education was conducted in an ontact (online contact) method through Nam-gu's YouTube channel, but after 28 months, it will change to a face-to-face method held in classrooms.
The education courses introduced from June will be divided into beginner and intermediate classes.
In the beginner class, participants will learn the knowledge necessary for computer introduction courses and how to use the internet, while the intermediate class will cover PowerPoint, Excel, blogs, YouTube, Pixlr, and document writing methods.
The recruitment scale for both beginner and intermediate classes is 20 people each, and participant recruitment will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis starting today.
To apply for the education, residents can click on Resident Informatization Education in the Participation World Education World section on the Nam-gu website and submit the application form.
