A Woman in Her 30s Scuba Diving Caught in Net Suffers Cardiac Arrest

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Ju Cheol-in] At around 12:50 PM on the 22nd, a woman in her 30s, Ms. A, who was scuba diving about 20 km east of Hupo Port, Hupo-myeon, Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk, got caught in a net and was rescued in a state of cardiac arrest.
According to the Uljin Coast Guard, Ms. A had come to the area with 11 club members and had been scuba diving since around 9 AM, but after the expected surfacing time of 10 AM passed without her surfacing, her colleagues reported to the Coast Guard.
The dispatched Coast Guard, with the cooperation of local fishermen, lifted the nets set in the nearby sea and rescued Ms. A, who was in cardiac arrest, then administered emergency treatment while transporting her to the hospital.
