Democratic Party and People Power Party Donghae Mayor Candidates Among 3 Reported
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] The Gangwon Provincial Party of the Democratic Party of Korea announced on the 22nd that it has filed a complaint with the Donghae City Election Commission against Sim Gyu-eon, the People Power Party candidate for mayor of Donghae, Kim Gi-ha, the candidate for provincial councilor of Donghae City’s 2nd electoral district, and Lee Young-hee, the candidate for city councilor of Donghae City’s Na electoral district, on charges of violating the Public Official Election Act.
The Democratic Party’s provincial office claimed that they recently provided food worth approximately 2 million won to about 50 unspecified voters at a certain restaurant in Donghae city with the purpose of winning the June 1 local elections.
