Mask as a Chair... Woori Bank Launches 'Hope Ribbon' Campaign
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-seop] Woori Bank announced on the 22nd that it will conduct the mask resource circulation campaign "Hope Ribbon," in which employees and customers participate together.
This campaign utilizes masks, which have become a new source of environmental pollution due to COVID-19. Woori Bank collaborates with the mask filter manufacturer "JJ Global" to collect used disposable masks. Scrap fabric generated during the mask production process is recycled to create resource circulation products. The 1,000 backrest floor chairs made through the campaign will be delivered to vulnerable groups through the Korea Social Welfare Center Association.
To encourage employee participation, Woori Bank has installed mask collection boxes in four Woori Bank buildings, including the headquarters. Additionally, collection boxes will be installed in four major social welfare centers in Seoul. An exhibition of upcycled works using collected disposable masks and mask production residues will also be held to promote resource recycling and the circular economy.
