Installation of Smart Shelter at Cheonho Station Central Bus Stop in Gangdong-gu
[Seoul District News] Cheonho Station Central Bus Stop Smart Shelter Installation in Gangdong-gu to Provide Comfortable Public Transport Environment; Full Closure of Cheonho Station Central Bus-Only Lane Until End of August... Temporary Relocation to Street-Side Bus Stops
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangdong-gu announced that it will provide residents with a comfortable public transportation environment by installing a smart shelter at the central bus stop at Cheonho Station intersection in connection with the Seoul Smart Shelter project, which introduces an advanced bus stop system.
The smart shelter is an advanced service that resolves inconveniences experienced in daily life due to seasonal and weather influences, provides bus boarding and alighting, platform guidance, and all IoT devices are controlled by AI to reflect the real-time needs of users.
Devices inside the smart shelter are controlled in real time through integrated control, and based on TOPIS, Seoul’s traffic information system, it manages ▲designated stopping positions ▲screen door opening and closing ▲heating and cooling device control integrally, enabling efficient operation tailored to the situation.
The construction is scheduled until the end of August, and since traffic congestion is expected to worsen, the central bus-only lane on Cheonho-daero will be closed and two sites in both directions will be constructed simultaneously to shorten the construction period and minimize traffic congestion.
Also, due to the closure of the central bus stop at Cheonho Station for smart shelter installation, the bus routes stopping at the central bus stop will be temporarily relocated and operated at the roadside bus stops near Cheonho Station Exit 5 (25-127) and Exit 6 (25-128).
Previously, Gangdong-gu installed two pilot roadside bus stops at Cheonho Station and Gangdong-gu Office Station, receiving high praise from residents. In addition, where installing bus boarding platforms is difficult, benches have been installed, and heated seats have been provided to prepare for cold waves, making great efforts to significantly improve convenience facilities around bus stops.
Along with this, the district plans to expand the installation of smart shelters not only at the central bus stop at Cheonho Station but also at roadside bus stops.
