KOTRA Hosts Webinar Supporting Greenhouse Gas Reduction Projects in India
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-ho Kim] KOTRA announced on the 18th that it will hold a webinar to support greenhouse gas reduction projects in India.
This event is aimed at about 30 companies that are conducting or wish to conduct greenhouse gas reduction projects in India, providing guidance on how to promote local projects and their prospects. It is expected to serve as an opportunity to enhance understanding of local greenhouse gas reduction projects.
First, the session titled ‘Q&A on the Domestic Transfer of Greenhouse Gas Emission Trading System Performance’ will be conducted by collecting pre-submitted questions and answers from the CDM Certification Center official of the Korea Energy Agency.
Next, an Indian renewable energy company will present cases of local greenhouse gas reduction projects and share the current status and prospects of greenhouse gas reduction projects in India.
India ranks third in the world for carbon emissions, with an annual carbon emission of 2.616 billion tons as of 2020, following China and the United States. In November 2021, Prime Minister Modi announced at the United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (CoP26) held in Glasgow the goal of establishing a net-zero greenhouse gas emission system by 2070.
