Craftsmen's Works Gathered in One Place... Traditional Craft Masterpieces Exhibition
Cultural Heritage Administration Commissioner Award to Knot Master Kim Hyesun and Others
The National Intangible Heritage Center and the National Intangible Cultural Heritage Crafts Association will hold a Traditional Craft Masterpieces Exhibition from the 18th to the 24th at the 'Ol' exhibition hall of the National Intangible Cultural Heritage Training Center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The event aims to encourage the activities of artists preserving our craft techniques and to widely promote the beauty of traditional crafts and the hard work of artisans. This year's theme is 'True Colors of Masterpieces.' Approximately ninety works created by holders in the craft field will be showcased. Three artisans will be selected to receive the Commissioner of the Cultural Heritage Administration Award. This year's honors go to Kim Hye-sun, holder of the National Intangible Cultural Heritage Knotting Craft (Cheongongsang), Son Dae-hyun, holder of the Seoul Metropolitan Intangible Cultural Heritage Lacquerware Craft (Myeonggongsang), and Lee Su-jin, court painting artist (Myeongjang Award).
