Jang, dispatched as the head of the condolence delegation for Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the ruler of Abu Dhabi, UAE, made these remarks to reporters at Incheon International Airport in the afternoon. He emphasized, "The UAE is a very important country from our nation's perspective," adding, "We have significant matters such as nuclear power plant construction, dispatching troops, and joint operation of hospitals, making it a special strategic partnership." He continued, "To elevate exchanges and cooperation with the UAE to a higher level, we are also planning a meeting with the new President Mohammed," and said, "There will be a conversation with President Mohammed, where we will discuss various current issues."

Earlier that morning, Jang posted on Facebook, "Although this schedule is very burdensome, coming just four days before the official start of the local election campaign, I have decided to minimize the visit to a three-day trip without overnight stays by spending two nights on the plane." He added, "Since this is a national mission entrusted by the President for the first time since his inauguration, I will carry out the mission well and return on Tuesday (the 17th)."
