Government to Attend Denmark Climate Change Conference Starting from the 12th

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the 14th, Kim Hyo-eun, Ambassador for Climate Change at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attended the meeting as the government's chief representative and introduced the new government's climate policy and vision.
At the meeting, Ambassador Kim stated, "As one of the world's top 10 economies and a global pivotal country, Korea will actively and continuously make contributions befitting its national stature to respond to climate change and achieve global carbon neutrality." He particularly introduced that the '2030 National Greenhouse Gas Reduction Target' is being continuously implemented to send clear signals to businesses and markets, enhancing the predictability, consistency, and continuity of climate policies.

The government submitted the '2030 National Greenhouse Gas Reduction Target,' which aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 40% compared to 2018 levels by 2030, to the United Nations last December.
