Expert in Overseas Private Equity and Co-Investments
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] SK Square announced on the 12th that it has recruited Bae Hak-jin, head of the US Private Equity Investment Team at the National Pension Service and an expert in overseas private equity and co-investment, as a Managing Director (MD) in charge of global investments.
MD Bae Hak-jin is a global investment expert who has overseen overseas private equity management and co-investments mainly in the US, Europe, and Southeast Asia for over the past decade at the National Pension Service.
Based on his network with global private equity firms and leading overseas investment institutions such as the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation, and Temasek, MD Bae played a pivotal role in expanding the National Pension Service's overseas private equity assets to around 30 trillion KRW.
By recruiting MD Bae Hak-jin, SK Square plans to accelerate investments in the semiconductor and next platform sectors based on a strengthened global investment network.
With the goal of increasing SK Square's corporate value, the company intends to execute co-investments with global private equity funds and overseas investment institutions and actively discover new portfolios.
