Emart Hosts Offline Shopping Festival 'Big Smile Day'
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Emart will hold an offline 'Big Smile Day' event for two days on the 14th and 15th.
According to Emart on the 12th, Big Smile Day, now in its 9th year, is the largest online shopping festival held twice a year in May and November by Gmarket and Auction.
Starting this year, Emart will also hold the event in offline stores to provide benefits to customers. They plan to develop Big Smile Day into a large-scale event held regularly every year.
First, through pre-planning, various products ranging from fresh foods to home appliances will be offered at unprecedented prices. The 'Fruits Smile Day' to promote fruit consumption will select six popular seasonal fruits and offer discounts of up to 50%. On the 14th, high-sugar and sugar-selected watermelons will be discounted by 5,000 won when using event cards, and all bananas, jujube cherry tomatoes, and fully ripe tomatoes will be sold as '1+1'. On the 15th, New Zealand-grown Zespri Gold Kiwis will be offered as '1+1', Farmers Pick apples (8-14 pieces) will be available at 7,450 won with a 50% discount when accumulating Shinsegae points, and Farmers Pick oriental melons (4-7 pieces) will be offered at 7,900 won with a 7,000 won discount when accumulating Shinsegae points.
Eggs will also be offered at unprecedented prices. On the 14th only, animal welfare certified eggs (25 pieces, large size) will be sold at 7,980 won after a 4,000 won discount, and on the 15th (Sunday), Farmers Pick grade eggs (25 pieces, large size) will be sold at 5,980 won.
Australian Wagyu beef will also be offered at the lowest price level. Emart will sell all Australian Wagyu products at up to 50% discount when using event cards until the 18th.
Additionally, for the upcoming summer, Shinil stand circulators will be sold at 109,000 won after a 20,000 won discount, and Shinil BLDC seat fans will be sold at 99,000 won after a 40,000 won discount.
During the Big Smile Day period, frequently purchased food items such as chestnut sweet potatoes (2kg), Ziller jerky 3 types, room temperature instant soups, instant curry and black bean sauce, cereals, frozen snacks, and 4 types of Kellogg's cereals will be offered as '1+1' on all items. Essential daily necessities such as Persil and P&G laundry detergents, Aura and Le Chatra fabric softeners, Pril, Jayeonpong, Method, Trio, and Sunsaem kitchen detergents, Gillette, Dorco, Schick razors with 8 blades, Perio, and Yuhan Yanghang toothpaste and toothbrushes will be sold at a 50% discount when purchasing two items.
Also, Gmarket and Auction Smile Club members will receive a 5,000 won e-money accumulation coupon usable at Emart.
