"Twice-Weekly Remote Work" Korea Philip Morris Introduces 'Smart Work' System
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Korea Philip Morris announced on the 11th that it will introduce a ‘Smart Work’ system that combines working from home and office attendance.
The Smart Work system is centered on continuing to work from home twice a week even after the social distancing measures are lifted. To ensure smooth operation of the system, it plans to continuously improve the system through a three-month pilot operation starting from the 2nd.
Baek Youngjae, CEO of Korea Philip Morris, explained, "The ultimate goal of Smart Work is to enable employees to achieve a balance between work and life through flexible working styles, beyond just improving work efficiency in the long term."
He added, “In the long term, the ultimate goal of ‘Smart Work’ is to allow employees to balance work and life and engage in their tasks with the highest level of concentration based on flexible working styles, beyond simply enhancing work efficiency.”
