According to Samsung Electronics on the 11th, the 2022 Samsung Smart Signage (QHB) became the first in the industry to receive the 'Carbon Footprint - Carbon Reduction Certification (Reducing CO2)' awarded by the UK's Carbon Trust.
The Carbon Trust is a certification body established by the UK government to address climate change and reduce carbon emissions. It evaluates greenhouse gas emissions generated throughout the entire lifecycle of a product?from production, distribution, use, to disposal?based on international standards and awards carbon footprint certification. Notably, the carbon reduction certification is more meaningful as it is granted when carbon emissions are reduced compared to existing models of the same class.
The 2022 Samsung Smart Signage (QHB, QMB, QBB) received the 'Energy Star' certification from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), awarded to products with excellent energy-saving effects. Recognized for eco-friendly efforts such as the application of recycled plastics, it also earned a Bronze rating in the U.S. electronic product eco-certification system EPEAT.
During ISE 2022, Europe’s largest display exhibition, Samsung Electronics was also selected as the 'Sustainable Innovation Company of the Year' by European AV media AV News.
For resource circulation, Samsung Electronics has applied eco-friendly eco-packaging to all signage models released since last year, and uses materials recycled from marine waste PET bottles on the rear cover of the 2022 high-resolution monitor (S8). Additionally, as part of company-wide eco-friendly management, Samsung is striving to minimize environmental impact in the smart signage sector and motivate users to pursue a more sustainable lifestyle.
