In an interview on the 10th with CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show,' General Director Lee explained, "It reflects President Yoon's governance philosophy of wanting to create a country where the people are the owners and the people's sovereignty is properly established," adding, "It incorporates the dreams of children, the dreams of youth, the dreams of socially disadvantaged groups, and the dreams of social heroes who have somewhat been forgotten over time."
General Director Lee self-assessed the Yoon Suk-yeol administration's slogan, 'Again Korea, a New Nation of the People,' saying, "The slogan is better organized compared to previous inauguration ceremonies." He has also participated in planning the inauguration ceremonies of former Presidents Lee Myung-bak and Park Geun-hye.
He cited the "change in weather" as the biggest difference between past inauguration ceremonies and President Yoon's inauguration. General Director Lee said, "(Past ceremonies) were held near the Han River by the Yeouido National Assembly Building, where it was so cold in winter that people wore scarves. Now, since it is May, holding the event in such good weather as today is the biggest change."
He also mentioned that this inauguration stage was designed as a "protruding type," differentiating it from previous presidential inaugurations. He explained, "It symbolizes the president's will to get closer to the people, to go to a lower place." However, he emphasized that attention should be paid not to the physical expression of 'protrusion' but to the meaning of communicating more closely with the people. He added, "The big difference is that it is not famous celebrities appearing, but our people?children, youth, and ordinary citizens."
When asked if there would be a greeting time for former Presidents Park Geun-hye and Moon Jae-in, whom they meet face-to-face after a long time, he replied, "Of course. After all, an inauguration is something done by people, so rather than anything special, since it’s been a while since they met, they will see each other in a good atmosphere."
