Gyeonggi-do Selected as Asia's Top MICE Destination This Year
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province has been selected as the best MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) destination in Asia this year.
MICE is an English acronym for corporate meetings, incentive tourism, international conferences, exhibitions, and events. Recently, as countries have been focusing on attracting large-scale tourists through international conferences, exhibitions, and fairs, this field has garnered significant attention.
The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization announced on the 10th that Gyeonggi Province won the 'Best Destination for MICE, Asia' category at the 'BD Travel Awards 2022' hosted by Business Destinations, a travel industry professional magazine.
This award is selected through votes by influential members of the business travel community, including travel industry executives from the Fortune 500 companies chosen by the American business magazine Fortune, and MICE stakeholders, among candidates in each category.

The province explained that it received high evaluations for strengthening competitiveness as a MICE destination through the selection of 17 unique venues (regional distinctive meeting spots) within the province, campaigns to promote online events to overcome the COVID-19 crisis and hybrid (online and offline mixed) events, and encouragement of green (eco-friendly) MICE.
