View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education announced the passers of the "2022 1st Elementary, Middle, and High School Graduation Equivalency Examination" on the 10th.
A total of 4,193 candidates took the exam this time, and 3,754 passed. The pass rate was 89.53%.
Among 40 COVID-19 patients undergoing home treatment who took the exam at a separate testing site, 37 also passed.
Lee Song-i (30), a severely physically disabled person with difficulty moving, took the exam through the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education's "Visiting Equivalency Exam" service and passed the elementary school level exam with excellent results. Lee plans to take the middle and high school equivalency exams as well.
Lee said, "I never imagined I would take the equivalency exam at home, but thanks to the active support from the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, I was able to take the exam without any shortcomings despite being a resident of Gyeonggi Province."

View original imageThe oldest passer was Ham Dong-ho, 82, who took the elementary school equivalency exam. A person in their 80s surnamed Kim also passed the high school equivalency exam.
The youngest passers were Im Ha-jun (11) for elementary school and Park Jun-hwi (12) for middle school.
Certificates of passing will be issued on the 10th and 11th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Room 101, 1st floor, School Health Promotion Center, Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education. They will also be mailed upon request.
Pass certificates, transcripts, and subject pass certificates can be issued after the announcement of results by logging in with a personal digital certificate on the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education's Home Edu Civil Service website.
