Gyeonggi-do Supports 20 'Excellent Alley Commercial Districts'... Up to 100 Million KRW Assistance
Promotion of Customized Shared Facility Environment Improvement, Smart-Based Development, and Joint Marketing
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Gyeonggi Province announced on the 10th that it has selected 20 alley commercial district communities within the province as recipients of this year's Excellent Alley Commercial District Development Project.
The project aims to discover differentiated successful models by utilizing the characteristics and strengths of each alley commercial district community within the province, establish a foundation for community cooperation and self-sustainability enhancement, and spread the resulting achievements.
This year, out of 351 alley commercial district communities in the province, a total of 38 applied. After evaluation of the appropriateness and effectiveness of the project plans and the current status of community operations, 20 communities were finally selected for support.
The selected alley commercial districts include 15 in the southern region: Suwon Nongsusanmul Distribution Road Merchants Association, Hwaseong Bongdam Furniture Street Merchants Association, Bucheon Songnae Movie Street Merchants Association, Ansan Wadong Merchants Association, Anyang Art Park Merchants Association, Gimpo Gochon Shopping District Prosperity Association, Gunpo Dangdong-ro Market Merchants Association, Icheon Daewol Shopping District Prosperity Association, and others; and 5 in the northern region: Goyang Pungdong Anigol Prosperity Association, Yangju Garaebi Shopping District Prosperity Association, Guri Namyang Market Alley Merchants Association, among others.
The selected communities will receive up to 100 million KRW per location to support projects aimed at cooperation and strengthening self-sustainability, including environmental improvements, smart infrastructure establishment, and joint marketing.
Professional consultants will be assigned to each commercial district to assist in carrying out specialized and systematic project implementation tailored to the characteristics of each district.
Particularly notable are projects such as 'installation of joint signboards and uniform signage within the commercial district to enhance district characteristics,' 'creation of joint sales spaces,' 'display improvement (VMD) projects,' and 'landscape lighting and flower path creation projects for specialized street development.'
