Beijing COVID-19 Spread Continues... 62 New Infections Reported

According to the National Health Commission of China on the 8th, the number of new infections in Beijing the previous day was 62 (including 18 asymptomatic cases), an increase from 53 on the 6th.
Since a cluster infection was confirmed on the 22nd of last month, the cumulative number of infected people in Beijing has exceeded 700.
Beijing authorities began daily polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing for three days starting yesterday for all residents of Chaoyang-gu, the district with the highest number of infections, and decided to conduct three additional tests in four other districts: Dongcheng-gu, Haidian-gu, Fengtai-gu, and Fangshan-gu.
Earlier, since the 25th of last month, Beijing conducted six rounds of PCR testing for all residents in 12 districts, which account for more than 90% of the population.
