Digital Seoul NFT Challenge Contest... Digital Creative Works Submission Until June 20
Top 20 Finalists Receive NFT Issuance Training... 100,000 KRW Issuance Fee Support
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Seoul Digital Foundation announced on the 9th that it will hold the ‘Digital Seoul NFT Challenge’ contest, the first of its kind by a local government to support any ordinary citizen to easily experience NFTs.
The ‘Digital Seoul NFT Challenge’ is a contest that supports education from the concept of NFTs to the issuance method, designed to spread the culture of using NFTs, a digital new technology, and to encourage the culture of metaverse citizen creators.
Contest entries can be anything created as digital works such as images or videos featuring Seoul city symbols and landmarks, and applications can be submitted on the registration site until June 20.
The first round of judging will comprehensively evaluate interest, clarity, and creativity to select 20 teams for the finals. All 20 finalist teams will receive education on the concept of NFTs and issuance methods through the ‘NFT Masterclass’ course and support for fees worth 100,000 KRW needed to issue NFTs.
The second round of judging will be conducted through online voting by citizens, and the final winners will be selected by combining the first expert judging (70%) and the second online voting (30%).
The total prize money is 6.5 million KRW, with 3 million KRW awarded to one grand prize team, 500,000 KRW each to three excellence award teams, and 100,000 KRW NFT issuance support funds awarded to all 20 finalist teams including the grand prize and excellence awards.

Kang Yo-sik, the director, said, “Through the Digital Seoul NFT Challenge, the foundation will actively support challenges to issue NFTs and proper experiences of NFT culture and concepts,” adding, “We hope that digital creations inspired by Seoul, created directly by citizens, will be distributed on global NFT marketplaces and contribute to the spread of Seoul’s digital culture.”
