President Moon: "On Buddha's Birthday, Wishing for a Spring of Healing and Hope"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] President Moon Jae-in stated in a congratulatory message on Buddha's Birthday, the 8th, "In the spring of Buddhist Era 2566, temples and streets have come alive," and added, "I celebrate Buddha's Birthday and thank the Buddhists."
President Moon continued, "Buddhism has awakened the spirit of inclusion and coexistence through compassion and sharing, and we have regained our daily lives with hearts caring for one another," adding, "Buddhism postponed the precious Yeondeunghoe to contribute to the power of recovery."
He further said, "Now, Yeondeunghoe has become even brighter as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity," and "On Buddha's Birthday, I wish for a spring of healing and hope. May life bloom like a lotus flower with the Buddha's grace (the act of the Buddha or Bodhisattvas giving strength to sentient beings)."
