Gwangju Bank Donates Proceeds from Public Interest ESG Product 'Meongi Nyangi Savings'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Gwangju Bank announced on the 6th that it has donated approximately 4.5 million KRW from the sales of the public interest ESG product, the non-face-to-face exclusive 'Meongi Nyangi Savings Account,' to Gachi Bodeum, a corporation entrusted with operating the Gwangju Metropolitan City Animal Protection Center.
Launched on November 16 last year, the 'Meongi Nyangi Savings Account' is a meaningful product that donates 1,000 KRW per subscriber to raise funds for the treatment of abandoned animals and the purchase of feed. To practice environmental protection, it eliminates the issuance of paper passbooks and is a non-face-to-face exclusive product available through internet banking, smart banking, and mobile web banking channels.
Originally scheduled to be sold until February 28, 2022, the sales period was extended by one month due to increased customer interest in this good product to raise more donations. By the end of sales on March 31, 4,517 people had subscribed to the 'Meongi Nyangi Savings Account.'
