Director Park Chan-wook's 'Decision to Leave' Competing at Cannes, Released on June 29
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] CJ ENM announced on the 6th that "Decision to Leave" (director Park Chan-wook), which was selected for the competition section of the 75th Cannes Film Festival, will be released on June 29.
"Decision to Leave" is a film about detective Hae-joon (Park Hae-il), who investigates a suspicious death in the mountains and meets the deceased's wife Seo-rae (Tang Wei), feeling both suspicion and interest, marking director Park Chan-wook's first domestic new work in six years.
Director Park achieved his fourth competition entry this year, following his Jury Prize-winning "Oldboy" in 2004, "Thirst" which won the Jury Prize in 2009, and "The Handmaiden," invited to the competition section in 2016.
