Busan City Supports Youth Local Settlement... Selected for 'Local Companies and Youth Hope Connection Support Project' Competition
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Busan City has been selected for the ‘2022 Regional Companies-Youth Hope Connection Support Project’ and will actively support youth settlement in the region together with Ulsan and Gyeongnam.
The project is led by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and aims to encourage young people from the metropolitan area to return to regional areas.
In the Ministry’s public contest project, Busan City established a super-regional cooperative system with the Busan Economic Promotion Agency, Ulsan Job Foundation, and Gyeongsangnam-do Economic Promotion Agency, securing 430 million KRW in national funding through the selection.
The secured national funding is the largest among the participating regions and local governments in the project.
The ‘Regional Companies-Youth Hope Connection Support Project’ aims to improve awareness of regional companies, discover excellent companies, and link them with youth jobs, supporting activities such as youth visits to outstanding companies.
To increase young people’s interest in local communities and regional companies, the project supports youth-led discovery of ideas to solve problems in local communities and other areas.
The city plans to actively support youth settlement in the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam area by utilizing the super-regional cooperative system to discover and introduce excellent companies within the Southeast region.
It also plans to further enhance the project’s effectiveness by linking it with Busan City’s existing youth job projects.
