[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province is holding a Fair Trade Creative Content Contest.
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 4th that it will hold the 'Fair Trade Creative Content (UCC) Contest' and accept submissions until August 29 to spread awareness of fair trade and encourage value-based consumption participation.
Fair trade refers to a form of trade that pays fair labor wages to producers in the Third World while providing better products to consumers.
This contest invites video submissions in any format such as advertisements, vlogs, animations, and challenges on themes including ▲ Fair trade as we see it and its attractive points ▲ Other free topics that can promote the appeal of fair trade ▲ Introduction of Gyeonggi Province's fair trade organizations, companies, products, sales outlets, and fair trade information.
The contest is divided into adult and youth categories.
The province will select winners through expert judging, awarding one grand prize winner, two excellence award winners, and five encouragement award winners per category.
For adults, the grand prize is 3.5 million KRW (1 winner), excellence awards are 2 million KRW each (2 winners), and encouragement awards are 500,000 KRW each (5 winners). For youth, the grand prize is 1.5 million KRW (1 winner), excellence awards are 1 million KRW each (2 winners), and encouragement awards are 300,000 KRW each (5 winners).
The selected works will be awarded and publicly showcased at the opening ceremony of the '2022 Gyeonggi Province Fair Trade Two-Week Festival' (Fortnight) held in October.
