Lee Won-duk, CEO of Woori Bank, recently addressed the internal embezzlement case involving 60 billion KRW, stating, "We will make every effort to restore customer trust." On the 3rd, before attending a meeting of bank CEOs held at the Korea Federation of Banks in Jung-gu, Seoul, presided over by Jeong Eun-bo, Governor of the Financial Supervisory Service, Lee spoke to the press.
He said, "I sincerely apologize to the public," and added, "We will fully cooperate to ensure a thorough investigation of the facts." He also noted, "Since inspections by the Financial Supervisory Service and police investigations are ongoing, it is difficult to respond to unconfirmed information," and added, "I will speak again once the situation is clarified."
