GC Green Cross recruits Discovery Unit Head Hanju Lee to lead new drug discovery
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] GC Green Cross announced on the 3rd that it has recruited Lee Han-joo, head of the Discovery Unit, as an executive of the RED (Research & Early Development) division in the research and development (R&D) sector.
New unit head Lee Han-joo graduated from Sogang University with a degree in Biology, earned a master's degree in Life Sciences from Pohang University of Science and Technology, and obtained a medical doctorate from Korea University Graduate School of Medicine. He participated in various projects at SK Biopharm for 20 years, discovering new drug substances, and most recently served as head of the New Drug Development Research Center and director of R&D Strategic Planning at Virobion.

Going forward, Lee will play a leading role in discovering target substances for various diseases, including rare diseases. A GC Green Cross official explained, "We have recruited talent with expertise in discovering new drug substances and early-stage research."
