View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Seven Eleven announced on the 3rd that it has launched a new product, ‘Chobap Gyesaeyu,’ and is expanding its sushi product line.
Chobap Gyesaeyu is characterized by faithfully replicating the taste of traditional Japanese sushi. It consists of egg sushi with soft and moist grilled egg topped with katsuobushi to enhance umami flavor, shrimp sushi made with thick and chewy shrimp meat, and inari sushi with a soft and savory flavor.
Using Samgwang Danilmi, a type of rice highly sticky and savory, known as the most favored rice among Koreans, it offers a chewy texture even when eaten cold. Additionally, a specially developed seasoned vinegar is used to provide a well-balanced sweet and sour taste simultaneously.
The container used for product packaging is made from polylactide (PLA) material. Made from raw materials extracted from corn and sugarcane, it biodegrades naturally within 180 days and can be disposed of as general waste.
