Geninus Signs Agreement with Kakao Healthcare for Comprehensive Health Management

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] Geninus, a genome analysis specialist company Geninus, announced on the 2nd that it has signed a business agreement (MOU) with Kakao Healthcare for full-cycle health management.
The MOU was signed at Kakao Healthcare headquarters in Pangyo, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi Province, with Geninus CEO Park Woong-yang, Kakao Healthcare CEO Hwang Hee, and key executives from both companies in attendance. Based on this MOU, both companies plan to promote domestic and international businesses including genome diagnostic services such as DTC (Direct-to-Customer) and precision medical artificial intelligence (AI) platforms.
They will also jointly conduct genome-related projects for genome data generation and utilization as well as full-cycle health management for the public. They aim to provide all necessary healthcare services to customers by developing businesses and conducting joint promotions for DTC testing services.
Geninus has experience securing 5,000 Korean datasets through its flagship services such as single-cell analysis and cancer genome analysis solutions, as well as the health screening genetic test service "HealthScan" for the general public, and has also commercialized DTC testing services.

Geninus CEO Park Woong-yang said, “As the personalized health management market based on individual genome analysis services steadily expands, we aim to create synergy through collaboration with Kakao Healthcare in line with the implementation of public customized service policies based on digital technology and big data.” He added, “Starting with this collaboration, we will develop it into a healthcare platform service and data business.” Kakao Healthcare CEO Hwang Hee also stated, “For hyper-personalized health management services through mobile healthcare, it is necessary to link genome information along with clinical and lifestyle information. We have high expectations for cooperating with Geninus, which has diverse experience both domestically and internationally.”
