Korea Import Association and Jeju National University Sign Industry-Academia Cooperation Agreement to Promote "Import Expert Training"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The Korea Importers Association (KOIMA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for industry-academic cooperation with Jeju National University on the 29th at the conference room of Jeju National University.
The Korea Importers Association, established in 1970 with the approval of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, is a specialized economic organization for imports, promoting global supply chain stability and efficient imports.
The association fosters trade talent through import management certification exams and trade training education, and also strives to create youth jobs by linking employment with member companies.
Kim Byung-kwan, president of the Importers Association, stated, "In the current situation where the global supply chain crisis is prolonging, securing stable overseas supply sources is very important," adding, "Through cooperation between the two organizations, we hope to become a cradle for import experts to ensure stable procurement of essential raw materials for our industry."
