The Seoul Namdaemun Police Station announced the day before that they had urgently arrested an employee suspected of embezzling 50 billion won from Woori Bank on charges of embezzlement under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes (Special Act). The police received a complaint from Woori Bank and began an investigation, and it was understood that they were in the process of imposing measures such as a travel ban on this employee. A police official said, "The employee came to the police station voluntarily and surrendered," adding, "We will review the application for an arrest warrant after investigating the details."
