Jeju Police Agency Conducts Crime Prevention Activities Ahead of Buddha's Birthday
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] The Jeju Police Agency (Chief Go Gi-cheol) announced on the 28th that it will conduct crime prevention activities from the 29th until the 10th of next month in preparation for the upcoming 'Buddha's Birthday' event.
The Crime Prevention Diagnosis Team (CPO) will inspect donation boxes and the interior and exterior of temples, focusing on traditional temples, recommend improvements for vulnerabilities, and strengthen patrols around temples just before and on the day of the event, while also concentrating on promotional activities about crime prevention tips.
Additionally, centered on the 112 Situation Room, all functions including local police and detectives will collaborate to respond fully to major incidents and accidents, and plans include conducting video (CCTV) patrols focused on major temples in cooperation with the Safety Policy Division (CCTV Control Center Team).
A Jeju police official said, "We will focus police capabilities to ensure a safe Jeju in celebration of Buddha's Birthday," and added, "We also ask residents to immediately report any criminal activity to 112."
