View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Seul-gi] After reports emerged that Russia bombed five train stations in Ukraine, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken released photos of his visit to Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, by train.
On the 25th (local time), Secretary Blinken posted on Twitter, "Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and I took a train from Poland to Kyiv," sharing two photos. Each photo showed Blinken working inside the train cabin and posing with the train station in the background.
Blinken said, "We saw people on the streets and clear evidence that the fighting in Kyiv was victorious," adding, "However, we know this stands in stark contrast to other parts of Ukraine where Russian forces continue to commit atrocities."
Blinken’s release of these photos came after reports that Russian forces bombed five train stations in Ukraine, interpreted as a sign that the U.S. will not lose the psychological battle with Russia.

View original imageIn another tweet, Blinken posted a video with a photo of himself alongside Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, stating, "President Putin sought to take away Ukraine’s sovereignty and independence. He has failed." He continued, "Ukraine is an independent sovereign nation and will remain so far longer than Putin stays in office," emphasizing, "We will support them until they succeed."
Meanwhile, on the previous day (the 24th), Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin met President Zelensky in Kyiv to deliver diplomatic and defense support measures. The U.S. pledged a total of $713 million (approximately 891.25 billion KRW) in foreign military financing to Ukraine and 15 allied and partner countries, with $322 million (approximately 402.5 billion KRW) allocated specifically to Ukraine.

This is the first time since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine that the two top U.S. officials responsible for diplomacy and security visited Kyiv together. The direct visit by the highest-ranking U.S. officials is interpreted as a strong warning message to Russia.
