Customized Support for Strengthening Technological Competitiveness and Technological Independence
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Kwon Chil-seung, hereinafter referred to as the Ministry) announced on the 25th that it will recruit 20 participating companies for the "2022 Second Half Tech-Bridge Commercialization Technology Development Project."
The application period starts from the 11th of next month, and this project is implemented to enhance the technological competitiveness and technology commercialization capabilities of domestic SMEs in the materials, parts,·and equipment sectors. The Ministry has expanded the discovery of public contest projects to private institutions to secure excellent technologies in the materials, parts, and equipment fields that meet the technology and commercialization demands of SMEs.
In addition, it supports systematic technology matching that aligns with the purpose of technology utilization, and provides a one-stop package linked with intellectual property (IP) acquisition guarantees, commercialization guarantees, etc., operated by the Korea Technology Finance Corporation.

Through this, the Ministry plans to actively support reducing the burden of technology transfer costs and increasing the success rate of commercialization, thereby further strengthening the technological competitiveness of SMEs. The current "R&D Participating Companies' Private Burden and Cash Burden Ratio Relief Measures," which aim to alleviate the financial burden on SMEs and venture companies struggling due to COVID-19, will be applied equally to the second half support projects.
