[Asia Economy New York=Special Correspondent Joselgina] U.S. President Joe Biden congratulated President Emmanuel Macron on his reelection through his official Twitter account on the 24th (local time).
He emphasized, "France is our oldest ally and a key partner in solving global challenges," adding, "I look forward to continuing close cooperation in supporting Ukraine, defending democracy, and addressing climate change."
Centrist President Macron defeated Marine Le Pen, the pro-Russian and far-right candidate from the National Rally (RN), in the presidential runoff election held that day, securing a second term.
