‘COFFEE TRIP to SYDNEY’ is an event held at Area Six over four days: the 23rd, 24th, 30th, and 1st.
Hong Chan-ho, CEO of Sydney’s representative Australian coffee brand ‘Normcore Coffee,’ will participate as a guest barista.
The event, themed ‘Traveling through Coffee Experience,’ allows attendees to experience Sydney’s unique specialty coffee culture, which has developed local coffee cultures such as flat white and long black, popular coffee types enjoyed in Australia and New Zealand.
Tammi (探味), co-hosting the event with Area Six, has introduced small-scale roastery cafes in Busan, the Busan Indie Coffee Festival (BICF), and Busan Coffee Week to diversify coffee culture.
KRYPTON X is a local and urban regeneration-focused accelerator based in Yeongdo.
‘COFFEE TRIP to SYDNEY’ will be held over two weeks with different lineups. On the first and second days, attendees can enjoy Sydney’s local coffee menus made with Normcore Coffee’s beans.
Hong Chan-ho (Normcore Coffee) and Park Joo-hwan, CEO of Busan’s Jeonpo Treasures Coffee, will also participate as guest baristas.
As a side event, a small talk-style seminar by CEO Hong Chan-ho titled ‘Sydney’s Local Lifestyle and Coffee Culture’ will be held.
On the third and fourth days, attendees can taste beans from six distinctive Sydney local roasteries: Artificer, Grace & Taylor Coffee, Coffee Alchemy, Mecca Coffee, and Sample Coffee.
Guest baristas include Busan’s leading roasters such as barista Eden Kwon Hyuk-jin, CEO Bruce Kim Sung-yong, CEO Lee Il-kwon of Monoscope, and CEO Park Min-hye of Lazy Moment Coffee Stand.
The event will take place on the 2nd floor of AREA 6, while the 1st floor will feature various local brands.
Visitors can enjoy discovering local tastes with brands such as ‘Songwol Towel,’ which embodies 73 years of craftsmanship, traditional liquor bottle shop ‘Busan Judang,’ trendy dried seafood shop ‘In-eo Ajimae,’ and art poster specialty shop ‘Columnist.’
Exploring the flagship store of Busan fish cake brand Samjin Eomuk and the traditional Bongnae Market allows visitors to fully immerse themselves in the local charm offered by Yeongdo.
‘COFFEE TRIP to SYDNEY’ is organized by Tammi, Rolo Wa Yeongdo, and KRYPTON X, with cooperation from Samjin Foods AREA 6 and Lucky Bakery, and sponsorship from Hario and 0th Law.
