UN Secretary-General Requests Meetings Separately with Russian and Ukrainian Leaders
[Asia Economy New York=Special Correspondent Joselgina] As Russia's invasion of Ukraine prolongs, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has requested meetings with the leaders of both countries.
UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric stated on the 20th (local time) that Secretary-General Guterres sent letters with this content to the permanent missions of Russia and Ukraine to the UN the previous afternoon.
In the letters, Secretary-General Guterres proposed meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, Russia, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv (Kiev), Ukraine, respectively.
