Establishing a New Industry-Academia Cooperation Model... Yeungnam University Selected as an Excellent Center in the National Human Resources Development Consortium

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Yeungnam University has been selected as the '2021 National Human Resources Development Consortium Performance Excellence Joint Training Center' by the Human Resources Development Service of Korea.
The Yeungnam University SME HRD Project Group exceeded the 2021 National Human Resources Development Consortium target by more than 230% and was selected as a performance excellence joint training center, receiving an additional project fund of 20 million KRW.
This year's performance excellence joint training centers include Yeungnam University, LG Electronics, Samsung SDI, Samsung Heavy Industries, Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries, and the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation.
The selected organizations were mainly major conglomerates and public enterprises, with Yeungnam University being the only university chosen.
The Yeungnam University SME HRD Project Group conducted competency enhancement training last year targeting workers in key industries of the Southeast region, such as ▲auto parts ▲logistics trade ▲smart manufacturing.
The number of company employees completing the training far exceeded the initial project target of 584, reaching 1,344, gaining external recognition for the university's social contribution activities through nurturing local corporate talent.

Lee Kyung-soo, Director of Yeungnam University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, stated, “Although 2021 was a year with poor educational conditions nationwide due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will continue to build an industry-academic cooperation model that enhances the capabilities of the regional industrial workforce and improves productivity to achieve global competitiveness.”
