Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station Researches Safety Measures for Factory Fires in Industrial Complex
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Gwangsan Fire Station in Gwangju announced on the 20th that it will participate in the 34th 119 Fire Policy Conference by promoting research on effective response and safety measures for factory fires, as factory fires frequently occur in the industrial complex in Gwangsan-gu.
There are a total of six industrial complexes in Gwangsan-gu, with many aging factories densely concentrated.
According to statistics from Gwangsan Fire Station, the number of fires in non-residential facilities in Gwangsan-gu in 2021 was 112, of which 41 cases (▲37% of the total) occurred in industrial facilities.
Additionally, among the six activations of the Emergency Rescue Control Team (Response Level 1) in Gwangju Metropolitan City in 2021, five were activated within the industrial complexes in Gwangsan-gu.

Accordingly, Gwangsan Fire Station is operating a research team (TF team) to promote research for efficient suppression of factory fires and zero safety accidents among firefighting personnel, aiming for prompt response to large-scale fires within factories.
