Paru Secures Contract for Solar Power Plant Worth 11.5 Billion Won
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Faru, a renewable energy specialist company, has decided to build a solar power plant with a total capacity of 9.8MW and a scale of 11.5 billion KRW at the Korea Carbon factory. Korea Carbon is a company specializing in carbon prepreg for parts and materials and LNG carrier insulation materials.
Korea Carbon, based on ESG management that creates social value, aims to supply the electricity used in its business with renewable energy by installing a solar power plant utilizing the factory roof. Through this, it plans to contribute to the formation of RE100 industrial complexes and the Green New Deal policy.
In this contract, Faru will build a total of 9.8MW solar power plants at carbon production factories nationwide based on its abundant experience, aiming to start commercial operation by the second half of this year. Located within an industrial complex, the site has excellent construction accessibility and grid connection availability, so the installation work is expected to proceed smoothly.
A Faru official said, “Constructing solar power plants on factory roofs involves many variables and risk factors, so we will complete the construction without a single safety accident based on our experience and know-how,” adding, “Faru will provide a one-stop total service from solar power construction to maintenance with the technology accumulated over many years.”
Faru has recently developed agrivoltaics, which allows farming and solar power generation simultaneously, to revitalize rural areas, receiving great responses. Through business agreements with various institutions and universities such as the Korea Rural Community Corporation, Rural Development Administration, and Green Energy Research Institute, it is contributing to the research and dissemination of agrivoltaics.
Faru was established in 1993 and listed on KOSDAQ in 2000 as a renewable energy specialist company.
Faru completed the world’s largest dual-axis tracking 400MW solar power plant in Texas, USA, which was acquired by Warren Buffett, known as an investment genius, and was featured as a representative power plant of Texas on NBC News in the United States.
