Candidate Park Jin: "The company my son worked for is not a gambling site operator"
[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Tae-min] The camp of Park Jin, the nominee for Minister of Foreign Affairs, refuted on the 19th reports claiming that his son is an executive of an overseas gambling site operator, stating that the reports are not true.
The Task Force (TF) preparing for Park's confirmation hearing for the Minister of Foreign Affairs released a statement to the press on the same day, saying, "NSUS, the company where the nominee's eldest son has worked since December 2018, is a legally established company based in Canada that develops or manages game software platforms and is not involved in operating illegal gambling sites at all."
The TF explained, "Ensus Lab, a related domestic company, is also a game software development startup that was acquired by British capital in 2016, and there has been no involvement in illegal software development or distribution. The designation of the Canadian company's location as a 'tax haven' has nothing to do with the nominee's eldest son, who is merely an employee, nor is it related to domestic tax payments."
It continued, "The nominee's eldest son graduated from KAIST and has five years of experience working at SC First Bank. He started working at Ensus Group, where his university seniors are employed. He was only responsible as a technician for maintaining and managing the company's internal computer systems and was not involved in the company's direct sales or business areas, nor was he well aware of the controlling relationships between companies," it clarified.
