[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] Ahn Jung-hyun (59), Vice President of Samsung Electronics, has been promoted to President and transferred to Samsung Global Research (formerly Samsung Economic Research Institute).
According to industry sources on the 19th, President Ahn was recently promoted and moved from Samsung Electronics Business Support TF to Head of the Future Industry Research Division at Samsung Global Research.

Ahn, who graduated from Korea University with a bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering and earned a master's degree in Business Administration from KAIST, joined Samsung Electronics in 1986. He rapidly advanced, becoming Executive Director in 2008, Senior Executive Director in 2011, and Vice President in 2013. Since 2015, he has worked in Samsung's control tower roles such as the Future Strategy Office and Business Support TF, leading major M&A deals including the acquisition of the U.S. automotive parts company Harman.
