On the 19th, during the National Assembly's Planning and Finance Committee confirmation hearing, in response to a health-related question from Kim Doo-kwan, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, Lee said, "I went through a seven-month battle with illness last year, so I am personally living a second life."
Lee stated, "When I was asked to take the public office this time, I was concerned about my health," but added, "However, I have been working full-time at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for the past year," indicating his recovery. He further mentioned, "I believe this is an opportunity to live my second life meaningfully for society."
